The MIRACLE is YOU
After thousands of human generations
And millions upon millions of individual lives
All passed and faded into the annals of centuries of time
And all their thoughts and conclusions
All their physical constructions
All their varied and abundant emotions
Still there is only you to witness it
To remember all those who have gone before
All those individuals and their personalities
But only you, here in the present
Can conjure up the picture of this passing
Only you can feel any sense of connection
To those people
No one else can make that connection for you
This is not to say that humanity as a whole
Doesn’t have some perspective on the evolving
Of the species
But it would seem that the past generations
Are viewed as some sort of make believe dream
And are experienced in a disconnected format
Of too hard to think about
How many lives
How many moments
How many songs
Words
Heartbeats
Thoughts
Smiles
Tears
Experiences of every kind
How many
And yet all of these things
All these centuries long seconds
Of humanities individual experiences
Seem to be
Somehow funneled, poured into
And bottled into
The concepts and the dogma’s
Of organised religions
As if all of those experiences
As abundant as the grains of sand
On every single beach in the entire world
Mean
Absolutely nothing
Without religion
To define their purpose
No matter that many of those countless generations
Have passed through life
Without having any kind of religious organisation
To tell them who or what God is
In fact modern religion tells us
That these past generation are now trapped
In some sort of purgatory
Hung in limbo
For not having found the Bible or the Koran
Sooner
And before those books were initially created
That they, of the shamanism traditions
Where in fact
All worshiping the devil
And they had no idea
Not one concept
One iota of insight
Into the spiritual and mystical
Or the profound
They experienced no connection to the creator
Or their creation
They had no real thoughts on the subject
And if they did
They were all being led along by Satan
In which case the precepts of Wicca
The Mayan Popul Vuh
The Egyptian temples
The North American spiritual philosophies
Gnosis
Buddhism and Hinduism
And all the other spiritual text
Mean
Nothing at all
Because they are not the Bible or the Koran
In fact and according to the Bible and Koran
And those people who spout the belief systems
All of those other collected works of spiritual knowledge
Are
The gate way to hell
It does not matter that both Christianity and Islam
Threaten their supplicants
With everlasting damnation
In torture and burning pits of vengeance
If people do not believe in their dogma’s
But they also threaten people
With the same thing and perhaps worse
If they should believe in any other form
Of spiritual life style or worship
And what is even worse
Is
Many people actually believe it
Never mind the centuries of generations
Gone before
And what it comes down to
Is the individual selfishly trying
To save their own particular soul
The inference is all the other souls who went before
Are now in damnation
Except those who were either Muslim or Catholic
And the Catholic hell is filled with Muslims
And the Muslim hell is filled with Catholics
On the face of it modern organised religion
Seems to be a panacea for the spiritless
For the thoughtless and for the intellectual coward
The question is
Are you courageous enough
To live without religion
Brave enough to find your own God
And your own emotive connection
To the universal and everything that is
Do you as an individual have
Any real insight into your own
Personal system of belief
Or do you prefer to shy away from the profound
And accept instead
The pre-explanations of religions
Which on close inspection
Seem to be formulated from
All those ancient religious spiritual beliefs
But have become so twisted
And so reinterpreted
As to represent a major aberration
In conceptual understanding
Removed so far from the actual truth
And so unbelievable as to necessitate
Some form of credible belief
In the impossible
Which then carries the blanket label
Of the miraculous and therefore
By inference alone, God
What do we tell the builders of Stonehenge
The Pyramids and the Mayan temples
What do we tell the sun worshipers
And those who worship Gaia and the Earth
What do we tell the Eskimo or the Shinto
Do we tell them that the world
Is now dominated and controlled
By opposing religious doctrines
Who are prepared to fight it out
Tooth and nail
Just to prove they are right
When all of those religious doctrines
Have at the basis of their beliefs
Only one idol they worship
The idolatry of money
Wealth, luxury, control and power
And for the ordinary people of those religions
Varying degrees of poverty
Is the norm
And wealth is the aspiration of
Their spiritual success
That having an abundant supply of money
Proves they are good
Even though a hundred thousand
Men, women and children
Die every single day of the year
From starvation, lack of clean water
And known curable diseases
Where is religious piety then
In the face of such numbers
In the face of such poor and squalid conditions
While all around
And held to the bosom of religions
Such abundance in material goods
Possession and commodities exists
All hoarded for later purchase
By those who quite literally have
Pretty much anything they want or need
Where is religion then
Is religion only for the well off
For the comfortable
Those who can afford the time
To go to the church or mosque
Because they are not starving to death
Yes but religions have their congregations
Of poor
Those poor who are suffering
Either to make their lives better
Or to pay back some kind of karmic debt
To increase their chances of entering heaven
To believe whole-heartedly
That God is testing them to see if they are good
Or worthy
Of being alive and of having the soul
Which God gave them in the first place
On the whole it would appear that
Organised religions are a spiritual sickness
Infesting the people of the earth
Religions act as an excuse
And a blow away panacea
For all the things the individual refuses
To take responsibility for
Religions are a mass agreement
Not to think
But to pretend in agreement
To have faith
Just as the Nazi’s had the Jews to persecute
Religions have the other religions to persecute
Religions are a form of racism and sexism
They are also fascist by nature
And guilty of the rampant indoctrination
Of generations of children
Throughout their histories
Religion have been used
To perpetrate the most heinous
And brutal crimes against humanity
And all in the name of God
And in the name of the religion
If it can be said that there has ever been
An attempt to create hell on earth
Religions are the corner stone
The key stone
If there has ever been an attempt
To truly isolate humanity
From the realities of the universal
And to separate humanity from God
Religions have done so
Religions tells us that faith is fear
That heaven is as big a threat
As hell
That the love of God is given
To the subservient and compliant
And Gods love is not extended equally
To all humanity
Religions belittle God
They belittle the capacities of God
They limit God
They narrow God into doctrines
Dogma’s and Books
Religions tell you that you must accept their God
Or God
Will not accept you
So much then for what is probably
One of the greatest gifts
The universal could ever grant
To any sentient form of life
Personal, individual, awareness
Consciousness and the ability to
Perceive and think and then
To express it all
As a complete, original
Individual.
